ADRIATICA sails towards the final destination! A few more miles of navigation for the proponents of the humanitarian project “Adriatica in the Wake of a Dream”: on board there's Lowara

10/07/2006

Adriatica, the famous sailboat manned by the Sailors by Chance, is nearing the end of its adventure among the fascinating islands of the Caribbean Sea. The supporters of the last few weeks of the voyage are some companies, among Lowara, that are sponsoring the humanitarian project “Adriatica…in the Wake of a Dream”.

With the support of approximately 20 companies from the ITS sector, Adriatica sailed from Cala dè Medici (LI) harbour on March 11th to pursue a novel humanitarian goal: the implementation of several small-scale solidarity projects aimed at fostering food production, assisting water supply schemes and safeguarding water resources.

Lowara, a leading manufacturer of water pumps and water control and handling systems, will join the crew from September 9 to 16 to Ros Roques. “The objective of all the companies in the ITS sector involved in this initiative – says Paolo Marinovich, President of the Vicenza Company – is to take part in a communication event whose primary mission is to build something useful for the populations most in need ”.

This year, Adriatica’s 10,000 miles of adventurous voyage have been divided into two sections: the green course, associated with the “Adriatica…in the Wake of a Dream” project, and the red course, i.e. the part of the voyage dedicated to crossings and passages, managed by Cino and Franco Ricci and their Italia Vela sailing school.

Adriatica will reach its destination on September 30, when it will complete the last tour of the uncontaminated atolls of Los Roques, bringing to conclusion the section of the voyage dedicated to the solidarity projects.
