“Sailors by Chance” on TV along the Red Route

20/10/2006

The episodes filmed on the Adriatica sailboat during the first part of its 2006 voyage, referred to as the “Red Route”, started airing last October 13th at 9:30 p.m. and will continue to air each Friday at this time.

This part of the Adriatica’s long voyage around the world is characterized by challenging navigation, including ocean crossings. The Adriatica sailed from Rosignano Solvay, according to the original plan, on March 11th, 2006. The first leg of the Red Route was completed with the arrival of the sailboat in the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean Sea. Here began the Green Route, a leisurely tour of the fascinating islands of the Caribbean.

Five Italian customers - Simone Bartoli, Giovanni Colonna, Erik Gasparini, Osvaldo Pezzuto and Silvano Stefanelli – and three foreign customers - Frank Korf from Germany, Duarte Nuno Crespo de Carvalho from Portugal and Alexander Levkin from Russia – participated in one of the legs of this coasting tour, which was no less interesting or stimulating than the long ocean passages.
Their adventure, sponsored by ITT Lowara, which supported the humanitarian project associated with the Adriatica’s voyages, will be shown during the second part of the program which is still being cut and edited.

On Sky channel 214 we will begin to discover the most exciting, evocative and characteristic aspects of navigation along the Red Route.
The second part, whose airing on TV has yet to be scheduled, will revolve around the Ship’s Log, and recount the different stages of the humanitarian scheme for the implementation of several small-scale solidarity projects associated with water exploitation for food production and the management of priceless water resources.

We are looking forward to the airing of the episode sponsored by Lowara in order to see our customers and especially the systems and equipment after the completion of the project.

We will keep you advised regarding the scheduling of the TV broadcast.
