ITT Lowara staff support the global water crisis
10/06/2009

Staff at ITT Lowara UK Limited have proved that local teamwork and creativity can be used to support global issues.
The team have been raising money and making a splash for ITT Watermark in the UK, promoting the ITT Corporation initiative to help regions of the developing world where water supply is at crisis level.
The UK head office in Axminster, Devon, has been buzzing with ideas which culminated in two weeks of organised events to promote awareness of the ITT Watermark campaign and to raise funds for the initiative.
Employees Julie Burke, Carolyn Rodrigues and Mike Court organised the events, and dozens of staff and the local community became involved.
“We feel strongly that safe water, sanitation and hygiene should be a right for every adult and child,” explained Julie Burke, head of customer services. “The ITT Watermark initiative will help to bring these basic things to thousands of children and their families, and we’re delighted to support the initiative.”
Among the events were two football matches, a concert by local band Volatile, a bring and buy sale, a cake sale, a sponsored walk, a dressing down day and a number of raffles. We are pleased that the events, with support from the UK company, raised £1537 for ITT Watermark.
